Way to wreck yourself before turning 21.
A Salinas man could face life behind bars if he's convicted of trying to kill a Monterey County sheriff's deputy by ramming his van into a patrol car last week.Prosecutors have charged Kyle Lynn Turner, 20, with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a peace officer with injuries, theft of a motor vehicle and evading a peace officer. He's off to a quick start
A youth minister at a Stafford County church was indicted yesterday on charges that she had sexual relations with a 15-year-old boy.Jennifer Michelle Brennan, 36, of Spotsylvania was charged by a Stafford grand jury with 10 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and 10 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to court records and sources, Brennan met the boy through her position as youth minister at Saint Matthias United Methodist Church in Stafford. The boy's mother said that among other things, Brennan counseled her son and his girlfriend against premarital sex. Read more...

He's got his flippy-floppies
A Portsmouth man has pleaded guilty to four charges relating to an incident in which police say he beat his ex-girlfriend with a flip-flop, bit her on the ear and was seen dragging her down the street by her hair.Mark Linkenviz, 27, of 124 Raleigh Way in Portsmouth appeared in Portsmouth District Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to three Class A misdemeanor counts of simple assault and one count of breach of bail.
The defendant pleaded guilty as part of a negotiated plea agreement that saw prosecutors dropping a theft charge. Read more...

That's a helluva 18th b-day
Two days after celebrating his 18th birthday, Louisiana man John Hudson was arrested last Thursday night on obscenity and trespassing charges. Hudson was nabbed at the Hixson Autoplex in Monroe, where cops discovered him wearing women's lingerie and fishnet stockings.
