WE GOT A FIRST TIMER ON 91X BEER FOR BREAKFAST OVER HERE! FIRST TIMER!
Brewmaster Paul Segura brought in a couple beers from East Village Brewing Company this week. East Village Brewing Co just opened a few weeks ago across from Petco Park on Park Blvd by owners Aaron Justus and Brandon Green. If these names sound familiar it would be because Aaron and Brandon spent almost 10 years brewing together at Ballast Point Brewing so you know the caliber of beer coming out of East Village Brewing is top notch.
One of the coolest things about East Village Brewing is they pour the beers right from the brite tank so you truly get the freshest of the fresh. As Brewmaster Paul Segura puts it, drinking beer off the brite tank is like having chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven, it doesn’t get any better!
Marty, Danielle, and Brewmaster Paul start things off with Kampala Special – Ugandan Style Lager (5.9% ABV) uses sorghum along with a touch of honey malt. A slow and cold fermentation along with natural carbonation makes this a unique and refreshingly crisp lager. They also sampled Harbor Lights with Organic Coffee From Oaxaca Mexico Rye Porter (6.4% ABV).
