Marty, Danielle, and Brewmaster Paul Segura celebrate a staple of the San Diego Craft Beer this week on Beer for Breakfast: Home Brew Mart’s 30th anniversary!
In 1992 Home Brew Mart opened doors in Linda Vista and became the birthplace of Ballast Point Brewing Co. It’s also where many San Diego craft beer careers began. To celebrate, Home Brew Mart is bringing back some employee-loved favorites as well as some long-time former Home Brew Mart employees who helped to brew them.
The Beer for Breakfast crew started with OG Mild, English-style Mild Ale (4% ABV) brewed with the help of Colby Chandler, (former Manager, now retired) and Ryan Glenn, (former VP of Operations Ballast Point and now owner of High Dive). They also sampled Big Eye, American India Pale Ale (7% ABV) brewed by Scott Smith, Assistant Manager.
