“Drugs” is the latest single from Grand Tarantula. Band member Jordan Clark explained the idea behind the song; “Drugs” in a nutshell is about a few friends in my life who had a lot of talent and promise that just got wrapped up in various substances and kind of blew it. The lyrics are kind of sarcastic but it’s kind of a sad song to me. Some one who just could have had it all but just threw it all away…”
Grand Tarantula is a unique punk rock group from San Diego, CA. Their catchy tunes blend the dreamy pop appeal of early 60’s rock n’ roll with the intensity of late 70’s punk. Since forming in late 2010, Grand Tarantula has gained a constant buzz in southern California, and after a few U.S. tours with up-and-comers like Middle Class Rut and The Royalty, the band has also made itself known nationally. In 2011, the band released a 7” picture disc for the single “I’m Not Gonna Let You Go,” which became a San Diego summer anthem while getting tons of radio love. Grand Tarantula has come back with a charismatic and charmingly spastic new lineup and a new 5-song EP, including the single “Drugs,” an in-your-face delightfully catchy song. The band promises a new release and plently touring including SXSW early 2013.
